Shortage of Nurses in the US Blame Medical Malpractice Insurance
The shortages of nurses in the United States is severe now, almost everywhere and as the Baby Boomers continue to reach age 60 and beyond we will see an increasing problem. Robotic nursing assistants are not quite there yet and we are graduating more lawyers that nurses each year. In medical school they often have a saying; If it were not for the medical professional there would be no legal profession.
That may be true actually considering the number of medical malpractice cases every year. First they were suing doctors, but the American Medical Association got smart and got better lawyers to help their members. The mal practice lawyers or viruses, as they are often called by doctors have now switched to suing nurses, hospitals and staff for medical malpractice. Some lawyers now specialize in suing for confidentiality issue with all those new laws.
The shortage of Nurses in the US can be directly related to the number of Medical Malpractice Lawsuits, which raise the costs of medical malpractice insurance to alarming rates and Insurance Companies say they have no choice but to raise the rates to cover losses. So, why would anyone become a nurse? Exactly and that is the problem you see?
